Do you use electronic medical records?
Yes.  The future of healthcare involves electronic records.  Soon every organization, from managed care companies to Medicare, will require EMR to provide medical services.  EMR has been shown to reduce medical errors and improves access to information by your doctor.

Will Dr. Scott perform surgery using the Robot?
Robotic surgery has not been shown to be better for patients who have surgery for benign disease such as fibroid tumors.  The robot does not improve outcomes and does not shorten recovery time when compared to vaginal ("no incision") hysterectomy.  Also, the robot uses the same number of incisions as standard laparoscopic surgery.  So right now there is no advantage to using the robot in general gynecology.  Until a significant advantage is realized, Dr. Scott will continue to use established techniques for pelvic surgery and hysterectomy.  He will use the "no incision" technique whenever possible.  We encourage you to visit us to discuss all surgical options available to you.
